We have a dynamic approach to our corporate social responsibility, allowing everyone that is willing and able - to join us in our quest for a greener South Africa.  Our Business Development division formulated a strategy called the HOTT (Hands On Task Team) , which is a platform that allows the general public, companies and industries to contribute toward the poorer communities and our ever endangered environment in a fun and functional way, increasing skills, sharing knowledge and traditions making us all proudly united as South Africans.

Our Vision is to create a platform for companies to actively contribute toward the environment and community, giving back through sharing of knowledge, traditions, active participation and to become renown for their outstanding involvement as an individual / team / company / organization.

Our Mission is to monitor the extent of involvement and ongoing physical contribution of individuals, companies and industries and to issue awards and national media-coverage – setting a new marketing and advertising trend that is pro the environment and its fellow communities.

How it Works:

The HOTT Initiative will host monthly workshops in various local community halls and sponsored venues where companies and individuals will be invited to come and learn how to make;

a)       House-hold goods: (blankets, towels, face-cloths, rugs, small carpets)

b)       Bedding: (pillows, duvet’s, continental cushions)

c)       Gifts: Candles, gift boxes, wooden and woven bowls, beading, baskets

d)       Toys: Dolls, recycled wheel toys

e)       Farming / gardening

f)         Wood-work (furniture, bowls)

g)       Pottery

h)       Recycling

i)         Food (wine, cheese, butter, bread etc)

j)         Traditional cooking, medicines, clothing, make-up, life-style

All goods made will be sponsored to a community, non-profit organization, home or animal rescue association.  Products that will not directly benefit the association will be sold on our website and in participating stores, and proceeds will be donated to that month's organization.  Sponsorships of materials, venue's and speaker's will be noted as an active contribution, and will receive a GREEN Jadeye which, when accumulated could win them the NATIONAL HOTT GREEN AWARD.

We will host an annual awards ceremony, inviting all those who participated throughout the year, including all our monthly winners, contributors and sponsors.  We will host an awards ceremony with various categories such as;

·         Most attendance as a company / individual at our monthly workshops

·         Best Community Garden

·         Most innovative recycled item

·         Sponsored goods, contribution and active participation as a company / individual

There will be 3 finalists, 1 ultimate winner for the most Hands-on Company of the Year which will feature as the main article of our Annual Magazine which also includes a DVD showing the highlights of the year sold online and at participating re-sale outlets.  All proceeds will go toward the HOTT Initiative for materials and tools needed for its sustainability.
